Terms of Use for Software, Scripts, and Associated Services

1. Scope

These terms govern the use of software and scripts made available by multifarious via our website and GitHub.

  • Scripts published on GitHub are released under the Unlicense and are not subject to these terms.

  • Applications made available via our website require registration and a licence key. These terms apply to all such software.

2. Software Licensing (for applications)

You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use our software applications, free of charge, for personal or internal business use.

Licence keys are issued to named individuals only. You must provide a valid name and email address to obtain a licence.

You may not:

  • Resell, sublicense, or share your licence

  • Use shared/group email addresses (e.g. info@...)

  • Reverse engineer, alter, or redistribute the software

3. Access and Support

Upon registration, you will receive access to a “My Account” area and a support portal where you may:

  • Request help or report issues

  • Manage your licence(s)

  • Access updates

Support is offered on a best-effort basis, without any guarantee of availability, response time, or resolution. We may decline or prioritise support requests at our discretion.

4. Data Collection and Privacy (GDPR)

We collect your name and email address in the following cases:

  • When you request a licence

  • When you subscribe to our newsletter

  • When you comment on our blog

This data is processed under:

  • Article 6(1)(b) GDPR – performance of a contract (licence delivery and support)

  • Article 6(1)(a) GDPR – consent (newsletter, blog)

Your data:

  • Is stored securely and never sold

  • Is used only for the stated purposes

  • Will not be transferred outside the EU/EEA without adequate safeguards

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time.

5. Warranty and Limitation of Liability

All software is provided “as-is”, with no guarantee of fitness, compatibility, or uninterrupted operation.

We accept no liability for direct or indirect loss resulting from use or misuse of our software.

This exclusion does not apply in cases of:

  • Intentional misconduct or gross negligence

  • Injury to life, body, or health

  • Product liability under the German Product Liability Act

6. Termination

We may revoke your licence and access to the portal in case of breach of these terms or abuse of services. You must then cease use and delete all copies of the software.

7. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by German law. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Göttingen, Germany.

All communication will be conducted in English.

8. Blog Use and Content

Our blog content is provided for informational purposes only. It is protected by copyright unless otherwise noted.

Users may leave comments, but we reserve the right to remove any content that is inappropriate, unlawful, or violates the rights of others.

Comments are publicly visible and may be moderated. By submitting a comment, you grant us a non-exclusive right to display your comment on the site.
