We’re into 2013 and it doesn’t take long before the conference circuits start all over again. The first one this year for me is tcworld India that’s being held in Bangalore between the 20th and 23rd February.
Actually the program is as follows:
February 20th : Preconference
February 21st : Day One
February 22nd : Day Two
February 23rd : Postconference
The Preconference day is providing an introduction to technology in three domains, Healthcare, Space Technology and Retail before filling the rest of the day with a workshop on Framemaker Extendscript… so some interesting stuff.
The main conferences days follow and I expect there to be some compelling presentations from some people I know… Stefan Gentz, Prof. Dr. Klaus Schmitz, Ashok Bagri… and plenty of interesting presentations from people I don’t know but have read about… Scott Abel for example who is also delivering the opening keynote ceremony.
I’ve got a couple of slots, one which is a workshop with no fixed agenda and the other a presentation “Why Re-invent the Wheel”… almost back to back activities for me so Day Two is a busy one. I’m particularly looking forward to the workshop because I love these open sessions that drive themselves along with questions from our users on how to get more from their software… I learn as much as the participants because it’s always interesting to see how other people use the tools. So if you are attending the conference this year feel free to add a comment if there’s anything specific you’d like me to cover in the workshop… it’ll help to get things moving along. To give you an idea this is what we covered at the ATA last year, and I think it went pretty well… certainly it was really enjoyable.
The Postconference day also looks promising, with a couple of workshops. The first on XML and the second covering Information Development… so both sound interesting for me.
A final and important note is that SDL are Gold Sponsors this year and are offering a good discount for the second day if you’d like to attend. If you didn’t receive the mailer you can still register through this link… see you there!
